Out of Time


I’m late again, Karen thought. She had a very important meeting that would determine the fate of her life.

They were counting on her. She needed to be there.

She ran up the front steps, through the double doors and down the hallway to the last door. Her life hung in the balance behind them.

“Ms. Knight, nice of you to join us. But it’s too late.”

She cried as she watched her children being led out the court.
