Nana’s Advice


Marla sat quietly, staring into the nothingness. She sat having a panic attack. Her supervising teacher is coming to watch her do what she believed was a gift from God. However, no one liked being under a microscope.

She heard her Nana’s voice in her head. She would say, “Marla, put your big girl draws on. You go in there with confidence. Show that man what you working with. Teach those kids.”

She walked in ready to do that.
