“No not again. Medusa, what have you done?”

Medusa stared at Mrs. Clements, her third grade teacher. She knew she was in trouble for turning Marcus into stone. However, in her mind he deserved it.

“It wasn’t my fault,” she said. “He poked my snakes with a stick. He was hurting them.”

“What do you think his parents will say when he doesn’t come home tonight?”

“I think they will say, at least it’s one less mouth to feed.”
